Looks like the US girls are pretty tired after so long in Japan, and the TF must have been pretty draining for them...

Just saw this USAG tweet:
Let's not forget that @ASac3 wins a gold medal too! She breaks the world record for gold medals! She's most decorated now! Congrats again!

So Li has to give that medal to Alicia?

So excited for Team USA!! Love that the young, exciting girls did great! Hoping that means more of them and less of the old, can't even believe if you watch these young girls you would even want to see Bridget or chelsie do anything ever again! Go Young USA girls!!

@Sabrina 2 years ago

I don't think so. I believe that Alicia was left on the roster. If that's the case, would USAG really allow Li to accept and have pictures taken with a medal that isn't hers? Seems cruel. Does anyone know?

Sabrina 2 years ago

I don't really know, but I'm assuming that when Alicia left, Anna came in and took the sixth spot on the team offically. So she will keep the medal as she is an offical member of the US World Team and not just an alternate as she has taken Alicia's spot.

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

So is Anna Li keeping the medal or does she have to give it to Alicia????? I personally think Anna Li deserves it. I feel bad Alicia was injured, but Anna Li should get to keep it.

These girls are so cute during the award ceremony. lol

Aly played it smart by taking out that punch front. I think she knew she would have gone out. I like the little extra choreography at the end. lol!!!!

Kamova looks really tired all!!!!!!!!!!!!!Will be interesting to see how she holds up in AA!!!!

LOL, I mean "Maroney"

Savannah 2 years ago

USA has the gold, no matter if Maloney falls or steps out. The gap is way to big for Russia to catch up!

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

My only concern left is Mattie's...(cough) I mean Maroney's floor routine and her 2nd and 3rd tumbling passes.

S 2 years ago

Unless something goes hugely wrong on floor, the USA have won.

Event finals qualifiers?!

M... 2 years ago

What's happening to last year's world champions? Aliya Mustafina injured, Alicia Sacramone injured, Beth Tweddle currently 8th on UB, Ana Porgras not in the BB EF and Lauren Mitchell currently 8th on FX (if I'm not mistaken). It looks like nobody will have a chance to defend the title.

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

That sucks, bet tweddle wont make bar finals. Japan still has to go :0(

Inside Gymnastics confirmed with Nastia that she is training again and tweeted about it. So exciting:) She is way too good to be sitting in the stands! We are behind you 100% Nastia!!!

Savannah 2 years ago

Nastia herself, she just said during an interview after the prelims that she is currently training with the intent of going to the Olympics. Insidegymnastics has posted about it on their twitter, and Nastia has as well.
