Get to Know Beth Tweddle

In this great piece in The Telegraph, two-time Olympian and three-time World champion, Beth Tweddle of Britian, dishes on a number of personal topics, including:  her perfect weekend, her scariest fall, winning her first World medal in 2003 despite some gymnasts trying to make her feel like she didn't belong, her training schedule, why she doesn't like to wear a "swimming costume" even though she practically lives in a leotard, and what the 27-year-old likes to do on her days off (hint:  shopping, laundry, and spending time with her boyfriend and family all feature prominently into her weekends).

Beth also reveals how she nearly retired from gymnastics after her fourth place finish on bars in Beijing:  "I know it sounds ridiculous, but it was the most disappointing result I’ve ever achieved. . . . I resolved to give up gymnastics altogether and went off to Greece for a week. . . .  When I got home I texted my coach to ask what time I was due in for training and that was that."
