Third surgery for McKayla Maroney

On December 6, 2102, Olympic gold and silver medalist, McKayla Maroney, underwent her third surgery in three months.  This surgery was to remove two large screws from left tibia, which doctors inserted in a surgery in September.  As Gymnastike previously reported, Maroney broke the bone on a bar dismount during the second stop of the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions in September.    Maroney tweeted this photo of herself shortly after the surgery, holding a large screw, with the following message:  "Surgery went we...

Maroney Returns to Kellogg's tour, with Screws in her Leg and on Crutches

Olympic gold and silver medalist, McKayla Maroney, underwent a second surgery on September 28, 2012, just 15 days after a first surgery on her leg.  This second surgery was on her right big toe, which she re-injured just prior to the London Olympics.   On September 28, Maroney tweeted a photo of herself giving a thumbs-up, dressed in what appears to be a hospital gown.  She wrote:  "Another successful surgery!!  #ThankGod.  This time it was on my toe!  Okayy ummm..
