Final 2012 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Rankings

The 2012 NCAA women's gymnastics season came to a close over the weekend in Duluth with possibly the closest, most competitive Super Six Final in history. Men's NCAA Rankings- April 9, 2012

Below are the final men's rankings as they head into the National Championships next weekend! Conference Championships were this past weekend and twelve teams have qualified to Nationals! Competing in the first NCAA National Championship session will be #2 Penn State, #3 Stanford, #6 Michigan, #7 Ohio State, #10 Nebraska, and #11 Iowa. NCAA Men's Gymnastics Ranks- March 26, 2012

After nine weeks as the #1 rank, OU falls to #2 and Penn State is now in the lead! For the national rankings this week, the top four team scores were averaged (no more than two from a home meet and the highest score was dropped).   Last weekend, the men from Penn State set a record for the top team score of the season, but they have now broken that record! Teams had their final chance for Regional qualification this past weekend at the Conference Championships. Congratulations to 2012 Conference Champions: Florida (SEC), Oklahoma (Big 12), UCLA (Pac 12), Nebraska (Big 10), Denver (WAC), West Virginia (EAGL), Central Michigan (MAC), Illinois State (MIC), and Penn (ECAC), and UC Davis (MPSF).  The below 36 teams have advanced NCAA Regional competition on April 7th where they will compete for 12 places at the NCAA National Championships. Still #1, OU closed out their home competition with a tri-meet win over #9 Nebraska (341.550) and #11 Air Force (327.950). OU scored 352.400 which is about average for the Sooners this season. The nation's top all arounder, Jake Dalton, was missing from NCAA competition this weekend because he was representing the United States at the Kellogg's Pacific Rim Championship. The NCAA women's gymnastics postseason is officially here! This weekend, teams will compete at their Conference Championships. NCAA Men's Gymnastics Rankings- March 12, 2012

No. 1 Oklahoma scored over a 355 for the third-straight meet in a 355.500-348.950 win over Michigan on Saturday and they hold the #1 ranking for yet another week. You can watch videos from that meet here.  Up in Chicago, the Stanford men put it all together to match OU's 355.50 score on Sunday, their highest score of the season. The latest women's NCAA gymnastics rankings are out without much change at the very top of the team rankings. The Florida Gators remain #1. At this stage in the game, with Conference Championships just about two weeks away for most teams, the goal is to get the RQS (Regional Qualifying Score) as high as possible for qualification and placement at the Regional Championships. The Sooners scored the highest team score this season of any NCAA team and captain Jake Dalton won four event titles- floor, vault, parallel bars, and high bar- and the all around title, with a season high, at this competition. It looks like the top 10 teams have kept their ranks this week except for #4 Alabama and #5 Georgia switching places and the LSU tigers now tying Oregon State for the #9 spot. In fact, the nation’s top 6 teams were all involved in a dual meet competing against another top-six team this weekend- Florida (W) at Nebraska, UCLA at Georgia (W), and Alabama at Oklahoma (W).
