In week 1 of the men's NCAA gymnastics season, University of Illinois dominated both the Windy City meet in Chicago and the national rankings. But in week 2, Stanford blew everyone away with a score we're more used to seeing towards the end of the year, 364.40! They took revenge on Cal who bested them in week one but even Cal posted a high 358.80 to remain second in the national rankings. The 2011 season had gotten off to a pretty slow start but in the past week three more teams have cracked 196: Georgia, Alabama, and Utah. The Utes set a season high at Nebraska without their top all arounder, Kyndal Robarts, who suffered a knee injury in the warmup. The severity of her injury is yet to be determined. Week 2 of women's collegiate gymnastics competition is now complete. We brought you coverage of the upset in Cedar City of #23 Southern Utah over #5 UCLA, Eastern Michigan over NIU, UIC over Western Michigan, and Towson and Bridgeport at Brown. Florida remains strong with another week well over 196. University of Georgia was the 3rd team to crack 196 this season in their home meet on Monday, just a few days after being edged by one tenth in their home opener against Utah.
