Anna Dementieva, Philipp Boy win European Championships, Aliya Mustafina Injured

UPDATE as of Saturday, April 9th - They have confirmed that Aliya has torn her ACL, a more severe injury that the previously reported meniscus tear. She is scheduled for surgery in Munich on April 12th. This means she will almost definitely miss the 2011 World Championships. European Championships Men's Event Finals Qualifiers

The full 2 days of preliminary competition have concluded in Berlin and it's all finals from here on out! The men took the floor today and World All Around silver medalist Philipp Boy holds the top spot with 90.375. Boy's German teammate Marcel Nguyen is back from injury and sits in second with 89.725, and Russia's Maxim Devyatovsky was third was 89.425. The 2011 European Championships are taking place right now in Berlin, Germany. This year's competition will not feature a team final, only individual all around and event finals. The first day of competition kicked off this morning with the women's qualifications. Midway through, reigning World Champion Aliya Mustafina leads the way in the women's all around with a 59.760. 2011 NCAA Championships Women's Draw Announced

On Saturday, the 12 qualifiers to the 2011 NCAA National Championships were decided. Today the draw for the Championship meet has been announced. This is important because only the top three teams from each qualifying session will advance to the Super Six Finals. Chinese Gymnast Zou Kai Earns Record High Bar Score

Zou Kai is the 2008 Olympic Champion on both high bar and floor and the 2009 World Champion on high bar. He was mysteriously left off the Chinese World Championships team in 2010, but he's just resurfaced with the most difficult high bar set in the world.  At the recent Doha World Cup, he easily won the event final with the highest marks on high bar in international competition under the current Code of Points. His difficulty score was a massive 7.70 and he totaled a 16.425 for the routine. Tan was most known for his impressive work on still rings where he won a few US titles and he was an NCAA National Champion for Penn State.
