When I first applied for the internship at Gymnastike, I wasn't sure if I should.  I didn't really have any video editing experience and I had a pretty busy schedule, so I was a little apprehensive.  Boy, am I glad I applied!  I had the unique and fortunate opportunity to be an intern for Gymnastike as a student-athlete for the University of Pittsburgh.

The video editing was a little frustrating at first, but with the help of one of our assistant coaches, I got the hang of it.  It was very overwheling uploading videos and trying to put them together because it took so long and sometimes was a little tedious, but by the end of this internship, it became my favorite part!  I loved creating something from just clips of gymnastics or behind the scenes footage and adding music.

People are so appreciative of the work you do for the team and getting their names out there.  It felt really good when someone told me they liked the video I made, especially coming in with no experience.  I even had a couple people from other teams around campus compliment the videos I made.

I also liked looking at other peoples' videos for some ideas!  Everyone did such a great job covering their teams.  I am very lucky to have had such an amazing opportunity to learn and get my creative juices flowing.  Some of my favorite videos to film and watch were definitely practice videos.  Being a gymnast myself, its sort of reassuring to see other gymnasts make mistakes, correct them, and perform very well and get great scores.

I want to thank everyone at gymnastike for letting me work with them.  It was such a blast!

Hail to Pitt!
