Are you supposed to lean into 4 months ago

Are you supposed to lean into a level 4 vault

Sorry if I was to explain the purpose of this drill to someone what would be the purpose??

I started my level 4's on this to get them to try to stay open in their vaults and get used to the length of the table and they LOVE it! they ask to do this drill all the time! Even the smaller ones who just start (I let them get closer to the springboard until they feel comfortable) can do this!

If you don't have a rod floor just use another spring board as the launch surface. This means you may need to raise the surface of the springboard that is slanted.

I've used a similar setup to work on Kasamatsu-full and Kasamatsu-1 1/2. Just to add, my gym does not have a rod floor. I would place one springboard on top of the other and vault in to the pit. I feel this method helps with vault-entry position as well as blocking technique and heel drive. If I did not get a good block or if I twisted too early, it let me know very quickly! After just a week of this, I noticed a difference in the height of my vault, as well as being in a better body position for the double or 2.5 twist.

If you don't have a rod floor, you can still use a spring floor. I've seen it done that way at a gym that had no access to a rod floor. The only necessary equipment is the springboard, mats under the board, and a mat behind the board.

If a coach doesn't have the luxury of a rod floor like in the demonstration what would you be using instead? Or is this drill only good if you have this type of equipment

No, it works just fine.
