Interview with Justin Spring at the 2009 Visa Championships, just 1 year after representing the US at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Since Beijing, Justin has retired from the competitive side of gymnastics to accept the head coaching position for the University of Illinois men's program. He talks about being on the floor at the US Championships... this time as a coach.

I like how he jumped in there and gave meaningful content-filled responses.

Next time you talk, please ask him for some details of what he is changing at UofI. He basically said that he is going to tighten the ship significantly there. I wouldn't try to dwell on the aspect of what was wrong then, how he is changing it (that would put him off and he should not talk down the previous coach). But just if you can get him talking about the technical aspects (strength, hours, assignments, whatever) that would be very interesting and revealing.
