Ruptured or torn tendons, especially to the achilles tendon, are unfortunately common in our sport. Here is a segment from a Q&A session from the 2009 GAT Convention with physical therapist and former gymnast Brandi Smith-Young talking about the dreaded tendonopothy and common questions associated with it; Do you ice a tendon? How to do you treat it? When and for how long should you modify your training?

Brandi is the Founder of Perfect 10 Physical Therapy where she works directly with gymnasts and aims to prevent injuries, decrease recovery time, prevent injury repercussions later in life, and enhance sport performance.
