I fully agree with #10. After re-watching the meet & was there in person, it was such a good opp for gymnastics as a sport to get out there and of course for these high level gymnasts to perform on the podium. As far as it being not fair, I think the more positive aspect was that its another opportunity for kids to get inspired. Its one more piece of positive media coverage out there for our sport that wasnt out there last year Lots of girls looking at colleges were able to get there faces known. They talent was quite impressive! |

There were some elites that competed at the cup. Gabrielle Douglas was on the JR. national team last year. I was at the Excalibur Cup this year and there were elites some elites and 10's both trying to qualify. How are the 10's supposed to have a chance to make it if they have to compete against elites? |

Thank you anonymous for that comment. I am glad someone else understands what I am talking about. I had two girls in the meet and I was very pleased with the whole experience. |

I thought Nastia wanted the meet to be for up and coming gymnasts who haven't had the chance to compete on a podium yet but my be heading towards elite and girls who are level 10 and going to college and probably wouldn't get the chance to compete in a meet like this. The elites at the meet were not on the national team so they probably haven't had much oppurtunity to compete in a big meet like this so this is a good experience for them to have early in their elite career. |

A beautiful gymnasts, but unfortunately she should NOT have been allowed to compete. At first the Nastia Cup was suppose to be for LEVEL 10 ONLY!!! Then it changed to 10/OPEN, Elites have a bigger advantage as you can see from the outcome and I don't think it was a wise choice to allow them to compete. The opportunity should have just gone to only the level 10's. Elites already compete in that type of environment and are used to that, some level 10 because of a bad meet barely make nationals. The Nastia Cup was a good opportunity for those who happen not to have "bad day" and make it to a spectacular competition. On another note: too bad she'll be too young for 2012 olympics she misses it by a month. And she is a great gymnasts, I love her line, she competes well and sounds so mature. |

The secret is a book by Rhonda Byme about keeping a positive mental attitude. Very good book. In terms of NL allowing elites to compete I like for my kids to compete with the very best which helps them to prepare for our regional championships in region 5 (a very tough region). If you look at the results the 2nd and 3rd place finishers Kassandra and Diandra are both level 10's so they can compete with the elites under level 10 rules. |

She is a very talented kid and along with her teammate Amelia Hundley will be ones to watch in the future. |

This meet was developed for several reasons. One to help support some charity organizations. Two to give the opportunity to our Junior Olympic Level 10 athletes to have some experience of what it is like to compete at an elite level meet with podium and interviews etc. Third is to find the next crop of elite talent like a Kayla Williams. I had two athletes in the competition and though they werent in contention to win they gained valuable experience and enjoyed the attention from fans/spectators. I think anytime you get an opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and experience something different only helps you and that was what this meet did. It was a great experience and we hope to get the opportunity again. |
