Routine of the Week comes from little 9-year-old level 8 gymnast Norah Flatley from Salto Gymnastics. Norah qualified to compete in the event finals session of the 2010 Northern Lights Classic featuring the top level 8's, 9's, and 10's from the weekend's 850 competitors. She won beam with this routine, scoring a 9.85.

I enjoyed watching this routine much more than most elite routines I've been seeing for some years now. Everything was so pretty. I hope as she gets older she continues to avoid doing that thing all people seem to do on beam these days where they stick their chest and rear end out, as if that is dance. This girl didn't do that even once, and for me, it made the routine so much more pleasurable to watch. I loved the opening sequence. Also loved how she kept moving her arms while preparing for the full turn, instead of coming to a complete stop as most gymnasts do. |

not only am i am happy that gymnastike exists, i am thankful that you guys were at Northern Lights to find this little gem. when i coached it was these adorably talented little ones that kept me going and i love finding the new "it girl" - this one has it written all over her! after listening to her interview, she seems very well mannered and sweet to go along w/ her incredible talent. |

She is almost ten. This is almost the exact same routine she did in level 7. My daughter competes in her age group. Norah is awesome and their family is great. |
