USA Gymnastics provides a separate national championships for Division I, II and III schools that offer fewer than 7.5 scholarships:

It helps make up for the fact that there are too few Division II schools to have a national championship. The NCAA requires seven schools and Division II has only five.

i think the difference is that usag nationals are for those teams that aren't fully funded

What is the difference between these and the NCAA? I know USAG isn't involved in NCAA but hadn't heard of this before
