As the USA Women's World Team gets ready to take the floor at the 2011 World Championships in one week, this episode of Flash Back Interviews with Kim Zmeskal looks back at a big moment for her and USA Gymnastics. Kim takes us back to the 1991 World Championships in Indianapolis and gives us some insights on her memories of that World Championships from the Team Competition thru her "GOLDEN MOMENT" in the Women's All Around.

I was there .... I drove 19 hours from North Carolina to be there, and this makes me happy to know that I helped by being there cheering you on. As a parent now, I wish there was more attention paid to what it is like for the parents and siblings. Bela gets all the attention, the first hugs, but really, I'm sure you know now how much of a role your parents were in helping you get there. I would love to hear their first person on how it was to get you there!

I am much more impressed at who you are today than what you acheived then -- and that's saying a hell of alot since you acheived so much!
I hope USA Gymnastics considers you to take over Marta's job next year. You get it.

Kim was the gymnast I fell in love with back then. I have watched the '91 Worlds more times than I can count. When her parents cover their faces and get emotional at the end of this video - that fluff piece from the actual meet - I still can't keep it together. One of the best moments in any sport for me.

Ohhhh -- the whole thing makes me teary -- but seeing Clarice and David Zmeskal so proud and Clarice crying -- I lost it. So proud to know this family and be able to call them friends.
