She is a true champion, inside and out. She was born with these qualities and coach Kelli Hill help cultivate them. They have always had a close bond. What a truly special relationship they have. This shows that a coach can change and influence an athlete in their care. Way to go Kelli! You and Dom are AMAZING!!!!!!

I notice that Dominique seems to be the emotional type. She is deep down a softie. Which in interesting in a sport where those girls usually show zero emotion, she brings out the waterworks.

I like Dominique Dawes. Dominique Dawes = strong independent women that can handle her business. She came to my highschool back in the spring of 1993 to talk to the students. She was so Diva that I was afraid to ask her for her autograph. It was a truely awesome display of confidence from a 16 year old in the face of about 400 highschool kids that were her age. She is tops in my book. Truely a great person.

Steven posted about Dominique Dawes making them cry, you need to go and watch her floor routine from the 1992 olympic trials and watch her and Kelli Hill hugging afterwards. That will be number six for you.

Well said Dominique...and you are a class act yourself. It seems you have grown into what every coach hopes for for their athlete beyond the world of competition...to be thoughtful and think beyond their self. I'm sure Kelly is very proud of you.

Wow, that was truley moving! This is the fifth time I've let Dominique Dawes make me cry!!! Haha.

1. After her fall on Vault during the AA competition at the 1993 World Championships.

2. After her second fall on Vault during the AA Competition at the 1994 World Championships.

3. After her fall on Floor during the AA competition at the 1996 Olympic Games.

4. When she made the 2000 Olympic Team.

5. This video!

Ughhh I love her! So sweet! And Kelli Hill has always been one to stand in the back, while the Steve Nunnos and Belas are outspoken and enjoy the spotlight.

I just cried my eyes out. Oh. My. God.

I love this girl.

That was truly awesome! You rock, Dominique! So many coaches never get the recognition they deserve. Thanks from all of us coaches!
