Kathy Johnson-Clarke was named to the US Olympic team in both 1980 and 1984. However, due to the American boycott of the 1980 Games in Moscow, she and her Olympic teammates did not get to live out that Olympic experience. Kathy talks about the period after the boycott and deciding to stay in the sport. She ultimately went on to represent the team at the 1984 Olympics where she, at age 24, was the team captain and won 2 Olympic medals (silver for team and bronze on beam). She was a major part of history in American gymnastics and one of the first American gymnasts to win a major international medal.

Here's a look back at Kathy's bronze medal winning beam routine at the 1984 Olympic Games. This was the final routine of her career.

Great to see you Kathy... i traveled and set up the equipment for your "mall tour" with Wendy Hilliard and Mitch Gaylord. I still think about that tour from time to time.
I hope you are well! Take care.
