Over the past few years, Chris Burdette of Texas Dreams Gymnastics has traveled the country giving a lecture called "Raw Ambition" and was nice enough to share the videos with us here at gymnastike. For the final video of the series we take a look at the ambition of one of the best gymnasts in American history, Kim Zmeskal, who also happens to be Chris Burdette's wife.
Please give Chris and Texas Dreams a big thank you for these wonderful videos! Which of the 4 videos was your favorite?

1. I think you can have a lot of self-actualization doing a sport without being the best person in the gym. It's such a fun sport. Somehow, the brief flaming candle of girls gym seems to lose sight of this, but I see so many adults who have fun with gym in college. |

As a child, I loved Kim. She was so inspiring and was by far, my favorite gymnast of all time. When I moved to Texas, I had no clue that she lived here or had a gym here. My daughter was very bored with her other activites and I didn't want her to do gymnastics, but she kept asking. I guess I didn't want her to deal with the disappointment of ever quitting the sport or regretting anything. I had to quit when I was young and regretting that all of my life. So, I signed my daughter up for some recreational gymnastics at Texas Dreams Gymnastics when she was 5, not knowing it was Kim's gym. My daughter loves it there and does attend school there as well. Her favorite people there are of course Chelsea and Kim. They are such positive role models for my daughter to look up to. Texas Dreams has been the best thing for my daughter and the life lessions that she is learning from the sport of gymnastics is priceless. I still admit that I am very overwhelmed to try and talk with Kim, but she is the most down- to-earth person that I know and you can see her passion/ambition of the sport in her coaching. She wants it for the girls just as bad as they do. We love you Kim and this series was awesome! Thanks for everything you are teaching my child. |

This is the first time I have ever heard a gymnast express, in words, that fire that burns for not only the competition but the training as well. And also how difficult it is to walk away from or replace those feelings that come from the training and the high level competitions when your career ends. Very eloquent. It is so difficult to transition to regular life. You are changed forever by the gymnastics. |

When I was growing up, Kim Zmeskal was my favorite gymnast. She was my idol - hands down. I remember being about 10 years old and refusing to hang out with my friends because the 1991 world championship was on. I remember watching Kim win the AA title. It was literally one of the most awesome moments in gymnastics history. I remember jumping up and down so excited that my gymnastics idol had just accomplished something SO huge. I am now grown with children of my own. My daughter shows the same passion and love for gymnastics that I had growing up. She likes to watch Nastia and Rebecca Bross...but her favorite? Kim Zmeskal videos. She loves Kim. Thanks, Chris, for this series! I hope God continues to bless you and Kim, and that the two of you will be able to continue to share the gift of gymnastics with children for many many more years. |

Thank you Chris for this wonderful video series. I liked them all, but the last one with Kim was my favorite. I have been a fan of Kim for 20 years and she inspires me as much today as she did 20 years ago in that USA leotard. I am on the brink of turning 40 and Kim has taught me that it is never too late to set goals and achieve them. I am now a mother of two and my fitness has taken a back burner to my kids needs, my husband's needs...but I am inspired to run in a simple 5K and Kim just gave me my "fire, my ambition" to make it happen. May God continue to bless you and Kim and your beautiful babies! Thanks Kimbo! |

I could not pin down my favorite video they are all great. I so wish you would not stop. The youngest one really hit home because I loved working with the younger "TIGER" types who are so in it for just fun but have that drive. She seemed so naturally talented. And when they talk about the feelings in them, I can so identify with the hunger to stay in the gym. |
