Amy's Gymnastics September 2010
These are some training clips from my adult gymnastics class at Texas Dreams Gymnastics in Coppell, Texas. I did gym as a kid for about 7 years for fun, and started gymnastics again in January of 2010. We have class once a week for about an hour to hour and a half and can work on whatever we like. The other girl Jennifer in the video, she and I switch off weeks doing two rotations each week, so one week we'll do vault and bars, then beam and floor the next week, since we have limited time in the gym. We are trying to get more hours in the gym starting soon! I hope you like the video! Please don't be critical, I'm just learning gymnastics again for fun :) If you live in the Dallas area and want to join our class, they offer a free trial class, so just call the gym and schedule one! Our class is Monday nights from 8-9 pm, we'd love to have you!
Amy's First Kip EVER!!
Amy got her kip today, November 1st! Not the prettiest kip in the whole world but I DID IT! This was the second kip I attempted all day, and the first one we recorded, so good timing turning on the camera! Sadly I didn't make any more on my own but I know that now that I've done it once, I can do it again! Woohooooo!! PS. Thanks to the lovely Jenn for filming!
Jennifer has made a lot of progress on her straddled half Shushunova! For proof of this, see her first one on the Texas Dreams Adult gym montage!!
Amy's Beam Routine Jan 4, 2012
Almost a year post-ACL surgery, only a month back in the gym! Very proud of myself for even attempting full turns again, let alone on high beam, since that's what I tore the ACL doing! I hope to upgrade the straight jumps to tuck or wolf jumps later, add a fouette half to scale, and possibly a tuck half if I'm not too scared!!!
Amy's Layout Full!
Off tramp onto resi! :) Previously I'd only done it into a pit, and a couple times onto a mat in the pit, but that mat was still quite a bit lower than floor level, if that makes sense. Anyways it's very exciting!!! :)
Gina Z Front Handspring
Gina's newly acquired skill: a front handspring! September 2010
Amy Robertson Floor At Texas State Club Meet 3-24-12
My floor routine at the Texas State University club gymnastics meet on 3-24-12! I got a 7.0 out of 7.6! A bit high probably but I'm not complaining :)
Gina is a regular at the adult class and has been doing gymnastics since May!
Amy Bars 1-30-12
My bars routine before the meet this weekend! Trying to connect the front hip circle to the back hip circle which didn't work so well as you can see haha! We'll see how it goes in warm ups before the meet and I'll decide whether or not to connect them!
Allison Can Kip With Shoes On!
Amy Floor Dance Through 1-30-12
Hoping to add back handspring back tuck on the end of one of those roundoffs, and change the last roundoff to a front pike! Working on getting the knee stronger before I do that though!
Amy's Beam Feb 1, 2012
Updated beam routine! Now I'm going to focus on improving the switch leap and the cat leap-half. I also need to add two more B's to meet the A/B/C requirement. And I am missing two special requirements, but those will maybe not come...we'll see!!
Amy Beam 1-30-12
Had to leave out my dismount because I was on a middle-height beam!! So close on that cartwheel! Hoping to add a split jump-quarter turn and a cat leap-half to get closer to my 4 B's requirement!
Amy Robertson Beam at Texas State Club Meet 3-24-12
My beam routine from the Texas State University club gymnastics meet on 3-24-12! My goal was to not chicken out on my switch leap, so even though I fell on it I am happy with it! And I fell on every single front tuck dismount I tried that day so I was happy to keep it on my feet despite the huge step on landing! I am eager to work hard in practice this week to get ready for the next week on 3-31! I got a 5.4 out of an 8.7, a bit low but probably fair based on two falls plus a lot of wobbles and huge step on landing!

Amy Robertson Bars at Texas State Club Meet 3-24-12
My bars routine at the Texas State University club gymnastics meet on 3-24-12, my first routine at my first meet ever! I got a 5.3 which I think was too high, but I didn't complain :)
