Oh, I misunderstood your first post, sorry! I totally agree that the commentators should learn the skills and their correct names. I find myself rolling my eyes at my television/computer screen regularly.

@NastaFan101 It's not incorrect to call a Tkatchev a reverse hecht. As for a "toe on Hindorff" - I agree that that's incorrect. But I believe it's a matter of preference whether to call skills by their namesake or their descriptive name.

I know that, I wasn't saying they should call them by their namesake, but that they shouldn't mix them. A Ray is a Toe Tkachev/Toe reverse hecht, not a Toe Hindorff. It's kind of a pet peeve ever since it has become so commonplace.

I'm gonna need for all commentators to go through an extensive course for gymnastics terminology.

First of all, reverse hecht = Tkachev
Toe-on reverse hecht = RAY
Stalder reverse hecht = RICNA
Clear hip reverse hecht = HINDORFF
Toe-on piked Tkachev = CHURCH

There's no such thing as a "toe hindorff" or a "stalder hindorff."

It seems Anne and Coach Jay Clark have learned and have started calling them correctly, now we just need everyone else to follow suit.

Emma, Yes I agree that Alaina fits into college gymnastics really well. She was injured the last few years so she didnt compete elite much after 2008 but she was in the 2008 olympic trials.

This chick is unreal! So talented - she was made for college gymnastics. How come I don't remember her from her elite days? =/
