Many of you likely remember Kamerin Moore as a talented junior elite gymnast who won your heart in 2008. At the 2008 US Nationals, she finished 7th in the all-around and made the Junior US National Team. Kamerin competed in three different international competitions during the 2008-2009 season. She won nine total international medals at the Top Gym, USA vs Japan and Gymnix International. Unfortunately, Kami has been out of competition since then but after 2 years of perseverance and 2 surgeries, she is finally back to competition. Kami talks about the past few years and her plans for this season.

It is hard enough to recover from shoulder surgery, but then she had to have surgery on her hip where they had to completely reshape her femur (not from injury but from the way her femur grew from congenital abnormality). Her determination, work ethics, spirit... is a role model for anyone to follow. She has been surrounded by the most supportive, conerned and engaged family and coaches with only one priority - to help Kami regain her health which then allowed her to return to gymnastics - her health wsa always their first priority and gymnastics second. Hopefully, the rest of the story will be, "And she lived happily ever after!" |

I wonder what it is about the roundoff that hurts her... Is it the splitting of the legs? I wonder if leaps on beam and floor also hurt her? Inspiring story though!! |

She has an awesome attitude. Inspiring. Impressive that she has stuck with gymnastics without being able to do one of the most basic skills! I love her fight and determination to stick with it. She must truly love the sport. |

Wow, she can't do any back tumbling, holy cow! It's amazing that she's working around that obstacle. And she is very well-spoken. |

Aww what a sweetheart. It takes a strong person to go through so much (1 yr of only conditioning?!). It's awesome to see such a strong love of the sport and such a great attitude. Loved hearing the story about all her family going to see her compete her 1st routine back in competition. Go Kami! |
