Today's gymnastics workout video gives you an inside look at how the future elites and gymnastics champions get started at Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. This workout was filmed in mid-April as the young gymnasts prepare for their upcoming TOP testing and a chance to make the USA Gymnastics TOPs National Team. Past CGA TOPs National Team members include their current elite gymnasts Amanda Jetter, Lexie Priessman, Amelia Hundley, and many more throughout the years.
Workout Wednesday with Mary Lee Tracy and the elite team coming soon.

More about the TOPs program at CGA:
Cincinnati Gymnastics offers the USAG œTOPS program to gifted athletes who train in their competitive program Levels 4-10. Each year they test the physical, emotional, and mental development of the athletes to make sure they provide the challenges and opportunities that they are ready for. In addition to their team practices, these athletes practice two other days to increase their strength and flexibility. Between June and August the gymnasts test physical abilities to qualify for the USA Gymnastics Diamond National Team (7-8 year olds) or a chance to test at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center for the opportunity to make the TOP National Team.

The choice of schooling is typically left up to the athlete and her family. Some do homeschool, but most attend school. These workouts typically occur between 6 and 8 am, and most don't start school until 8:30. Also the schools in the area are used to working with CGA as a result of the high number of elite athletes that have come through.

i really like this workout wed. but one thing i would like is for you to identify each of the gymnasts names. A lot of us here to not know who these gymnasts are (we probably will know in the future). If you could tell us who each gymnast is, that would be great.

Very cute! These girls do a very good job with the kids's workouts :)

This is an awesome video! Just a curious question... was this workout filmed on a weekday? Do these kids (already) homeschool? Or do their regular schools (public or private) make exceptions for them? No judgement or criticism either way, I'm just curious!

My favorite was the blonde in the polka dog with the cute "net" hairdo. They are all precious and very talented! Way to go girls! Keep up the good work!

turtle gym: The TOP practises are before school, so that all levels can fit in. Level 4 and 5 train the same days TOP as regular practises; it works out so that the worst schedules is for level 6, which is a level commonly skipped by these gymnats. You can see the current schedule at the cincinnati gymnastics website.
You look good, girls. Good luck!

Question: In the video, she explains that these TOPs girls come in 2 days for TOPs training. I have to assume this is in addition to their regular training since she mentions that they don't do TOPs until Level 4. So how many days do these girls work out? Our Level 4's do 3 days a week, so when would you do additional TOPs training?? I find it hard to believe that they come in 5 days a week at 6 years old, so how do you fit it in?

Well that goes to show really, there is no magic. Its basically young kids with potential (i have to assume they have that since they have been picked), working in a large group (Herd mentality), surrounded by elites (constant motivation), with good coaching (guidance). This is how you continue to produce good athletes. Nice good video
