June 2011 Workout Wednesday - This week's gymnastics workout video features one of the top coaches and elite teams in the United States, Mary Lee Tracy and Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. Mary Lee's current team of elites is made up of USA Senior National team member Amanda Jetter, USA Junior National team member and 2010 Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup Champion Lexie Priessman, 2009 World Vault Champion Kayla Williams, 2011 Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup runner up and junior elite Amelia Hundley, and junior elite gymnast Brianna Brown.

This workout was filmed towards the end of April as the girls focused on conditioning and upgrades before the 2011 elite gymnastics season. Amanda Jetter was coming back from an ankle injury suffered at her recent international assignment in Italy, but is expected to compete at the upcoming Classic meets along with all of her elite teammates. Watch for the Cincinnati Elite gymnasts to this summer at the 2011 Visa Championships in St. Paul, as each of them will be contenders for the 2011-2012 USA National Team. Kayla Williams will move to Tuscaloosa in the fall to begin her college gymnastics career and add even more depth to the defending NCAA Champions, the University of Alabama.

Lexie Priessman has some big skills! They are all AMAZING on bars! Great form! Mary Lee is doing an amazing job with her elites. I hope they do well and she gets noticed more!

lexie and amelia are exciting up and comers. theyre both spectacualr. lexies double double was hugeeee! i just wish she would straighten her legs in her aerials and bhs and losos. it would make her beam sooo much better. i love her though :) and i love the dog.it kinda made my day :p

Ummmm doubt that gymnastike is going to get into WOGA to film anything.

@M re: Jetter's injury. This was filmed April 15 and that was just a few short weeks after the Jesolo Italy trip that Jetter and Priessman went on with the US National team. There you may recall that Jetter landed horribly horribly short on a vault and thus injured her ankle. See the video of her injury here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5XJdKB66yI

@Anonymous Coward re: double arabian to stomach... maybe it's for her dismount? She does a r/o double arabian dismount off beam, and she's injured so perhaps it is a way to continue trying to train it without jumping/pushing off her ankle.

Thanks Anne - so awesome to get to see a little bit into different gyms! For some reason, seeing the conditioning is always my favorite part.

On another note, did anyone notice that of Amelia's bar and beam dismounts that were shown, she was still twisting when she landed on all of them? Granted we only saw a few, but still, makes me scared for her knees!

Yeah haha I was wondering if anyone would notice that :)

The gym had recently taken part in a fundraiser for breast cancer where you can donate and get a temporary pink streak in your hair. Some of the TOPs kids in the earlier workout video had some pink in their hair too if anyone caught that.

@ Jess - I was thinking the exact same thing as I was watching! I feel silly that I never realized it before, but her gymnastics is absolutely gorgeous! Her form is pristine and she is so dang exciting to watch - was that a double double she threw on floor?! It is a real shame she won't be old enough for 2012. I really hope she can hold on until 2016 because she definitely has that something special!
