The final episode of Workout Wednesday before the 2011 Visa Championships in Saint Paul features the team with the most qualifiers, Texas Dreams. America's first World all around Champion, Kim Zmeskal-Burdette, has 3 National All Around titles to her name and now she spends her days fostering the talent of young gymnasts and preparing them to compete for their own national titles, and the chance to earn a slot on the US National team.

Next week Texas Dreams will have 7 gymnasts competing at the 2011 Visa National Championships: current junior National team member Kennedy Baker, reigning CoverGirl Classic Beam Champion Nica Hults, Dare Maxwell, Kiana Winston, Peyton Ernst, Bailie Key, and Macy Toronjo. 2010 World Team silver medalist Chelsea Davis qualified to compete but has chosen to pursue collegiate gymnastics and will start at Georgia this month.

Watch how coaches Chris Burdette and Zmeskal-Burdette train their athletes with less than 2 weeks until the most important meet of the season. Stay tuned for more Visa Gymnastics Championships coverage here on gymnastike.

Kristen Marusa 2 years ago

The girl training the overshoot & beam connection was Kortnee Miller. She just finished Level 9 Westerns last season.

Katelyn was a beautiful gymnast! It saddens me that she is no longer elite.

I have high hoeps for Raegen and Ashton, Also, who was the girl training the overshoot? she had a really good beam connection as well. she looked really good at what she was doing. I wonder who that is.

The little girl in pink is my daughter.....she was trying out with Texas Dreams last week....we are from Georgia

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

The little girl in the pink at the end is adorable! She did look a little lost though haha. What a great gym, I love that they stress positive learning and self motivation. A very healthy mentality in gym and in life.

fab vid, per usual 2 years ago

Really love Kim. We're so lucky to have her still such a big part of the sport. She really seems to have a very grounded and sane thought process regarding her athletes. She's one smart cookie! Looking forward to seeing the TD athletes at championships!

P.S. Thanks again, Anne, for giving us access to the most fascinating stuff for many fans - workouts - that we would otherwise never get to see!

All of these girls are great, but I really hope Peyton Ernst does well. She is so talented and has so much potential!
