I pretty much teach everything the same. Right round off, right twist backward, right twist frontward. (or Left, left, left) I have been pretty successful this way. Many people are equally successful teaching other ways. Just have a plan. Don't teach things by accident.

I am working on getting this entire lecture up on my website. I will re-post when it is all up there.

If you are a righty you twist left in a round off like you said. I teach my kids to twist backwards the same way they round off and forward the opposite because the turning direction of a front half and a round off is the same so in most cases it feels more comfortable to the child. Thats the way I have found most success but everyone has their own method.

When he talks about twisting the same direction front and back- does he have his "righty" round-off kids twist left when they back tumble since you are actually twisting left into the roundoff?

I like the part about explaining what the conditioning exercises are for. That is a good way to motivate them to condition. Good tip
