Anonymous Coward 7 months ago

well that is good. hey where di you get the official list from?

Anonymous Coward 7 months ago

she got named as a judge but won't be judging in qualifications according to the official list

Anonymous Coward 7 months ago

yea, I found it, and this is what it reads... "Also interesting that Komova's mother, 1985 world championship gold medalist Vera Kolesnikova, will be in Tokyo as a judge. No doubt some people will grumble, but it was a smart move on the Russians' part. Not only is Vera one of their top judges, she can help soothe her daughter's nerves at her first worlds." Her mother is not judging at all.

Her mom isn't one of the HEAD head judges. Get over it.

And people punished for cheating won't be able to cheat anymore. I just think it's sad that some organizations have these smoke and mirrors processes that only give the appearance that they're trying to do something about cheating. Then when somebody actually cheats, it's like they barely care. Great way to keep cheating going.

Is it possible the Russians looked so bad during training on purpose???

Anonymous Coward 7 months ago

I don't agree. I think thats why organizations have rules to prevent conflict of interest. Generally people given the chance to cheat will cheat.

"She is great and all. But do you all know her mom is gonna be one of the head judges at the World Championships? Can we all say Unfair? Hello.... Conflict of interest!"

I dislike how people automatically decide that someone having a so-called conflict of interest means that person can't be trusted to be honest. Let her be head judge and if she's not honest, ban her and correct the results. I prefer this method to disallowing everyone just because a few people might cheat. The same goes for everyone else.
