Laura Edwards is currently listed as Team GBR World Championships alternate so this may be the only time we get to see her out on the competition floor in Tokyo, but she impressed us all with this innovative beam mount in podium training.

Sorry coward - thats not the case. Laura competed it in the 2010 Commonwealths.

There are number of British girls doing that mount, it seems quite popular. The youngest one I have seen was from 9 year old Margaux Derakshan who competed it last year!

I've been in this sport about 40 years between myself and my kids and I've never seen that beam mount or one like it, so yeah, it's impressive. Anything innovative is fun to see. This website seems to cover a lot of gymnasts, not just the top few like most t.v. coverage!

Oh and also, this sport is thriving, not dying.
More and more countries are creating teams that are top level.
Before it was a sport dominated by the Romanians and the Soviet Union. (Mens- China/Japan)
Now, several countries contend for medals.

Being able to see all this stuff and go to meets, as a job!
