USA Gymnastics National Team coordinator Martha Karolyi has had a hugely successful World Championships already in a team gold for the US women and the individual all around gold for Jordyn Wieber. Alexandra Raisman also finished 4th place tonight after a mistake on uneven bars. Karolyi talks about tonight's World all around finals, the battle with Viktoria Komova of Russia, and offers her outlook on 2012 with Nastia Liukin announcing a comeback to gymnastics and younger gymnasts turning eligible to compete.

First, there is no way Nastia would announce a comeback unless she knew she could do it. So there are no ifs there about being ready. If she stays injury-free, she will be on the team with her eye on gold for bars. Rebecca Bross- I havent heard anything one way or the other. All I can say is that I'm a huge fan and I hope she is able to pull it off. And yes, the pressure she is under is crushing. She was the it girl at WOGA from the time she was a level 7. Everyone had their eye on her, and I can't imagine the toll that would take. I wish her all the best. |

I just checked who's on the Pan American team. For some reason I thought Ross and Finnegan were on it, but mustn't be age eligible for that either. I thought usually the Pan American games allowed younger gymnasts compete - like Bross in 2007 and Liukin in 2003, TWO years before they officially became seniors. I think it's so unfair for gymnasts turning 16 next year not to have experience of big competitions, for themselves as experience and also to prove themselves to Marta. With such a deep team (with the 5-3-3 format, the USA could fill 3 or 4 good teams!!) it'll be extra hard for the likes of Ross and FInnegan :( |

I think Marta really likes Gabby. She is always the first "new senior" gymnast she mentions in interviews. Gabby is a true all-arounder, and has the potential to be super strong on all four with the same start values as Jordyn! She just needs to stay healthy and work on her confidence. my dream team for 2012: jordyn, gabby, shawn, kyla ross, and aly raisman. alt:sabrina |

Marta wants whoever looks good next year to make the Olympic team. She rarely plays favorites. |

Bross can do a 6.5 bar routine in her sleep with good execution. You're nuts if you think she's "done". In fact, she's probably close to starting up training again after her injury. A rest should probably do wonders for her. |

These girls have 9 months before the Olympics, about 8 before trials. I will be shocked to see Alicia back after her injury. Bross, I really think is done. I'm not to sure if Nastia can make a comeback in time. I think Shawn could do a harder bar routine. She should try to upgrade. It's going to be an interesting preperation for USA!!! |
