Nadia Comaneci on the old school Uneven Bars. I love all of her transitions, and especially the Comaneci release move that I believe is still valued at a D or an E value skill!

@Michelle- Grace Taylor who used to go to University of Georgia used to compete it as well and at the Gymdogs intrasquad meet before the season started, she would perform several of them in a row. i think she got to 5? i'm not positive but they were beautiful.

@Michelle--Georgia Dabritz (now at Utah, formerly from Ace Gymnastics) competes the Comaneci and she does it amazingly well! :)

I don't think this looks easy at all. Sure she doesn't have the big circling elements, but she's got an E-value single bar release, is catching the bar in mixed grip, is connecting flight elements....I think the routine looks very intricate. No down time....it kind of looks like the mother of He Kexin's 2008 Olympic bar routine. The catching the bar in mixed grips and non-stop movement.....

The comaneci is still an E and considered one of the harder E's, while the dismount is actually quite easy and I think only a C.

I realize that by today's standards this routine would be considered "easy" (except perhaps the dismount) but I enjoy it far more than the current jam-packed trick-filled bar routines. There is beauty in simplicity and well-performed moves. I would rather see a well-performed "easy" routine than a difficult one with no style.
