  • Olympic champion McKayla Maroney comes home to AOGC

    On Wednesday, August 15, 2012, Olympic gold and silver medalist, McKayla Maroney, returned to her hometown of Los Angeles for the first time since the Olympics. Maroney was greeted with a warm, red-carpet reception, swarmed by dozens of adoring AOGC teammates, parents, and fans. After Maroney's flight was significantly delayed, her loyal teammates waited outside for hours to greet her. Gymnastike was on hand to capture this special event. On this page, check out our interview with McKayla just minutes after arriving in Los Angeles. Coming the week of 8/19: additional interviews with McKayla's adorable little sister, Tarynn, along with many of McKayla's teammates, including AOGC standout Nicki Shapiro, and Sasha, a level 5 who starred as the gymnast on the beam in the P&G "Kids" Olympics commercial.

  • Wieber Fever

    Gymnastike visited Geddert's Twistars USA in May of 2012. Twistars is home of 2011 World All Around Champion Jordyn Wieber and her longtime coaches, John and Kathryn Geddert. Earlier this month, Wieber defended her U.S. National All-Around Title, and Gymnastike will be there every step of the way as she prepares for the 2012 London Olympic Games, and her shot at Olympic glory.   • 2012 Visa Championships

    Bailie is a junior international elite gymnast who trains at Texas Dreams Gymnastics under coaches Chris Burdette and Kim Zmeskal-Burdette. Key placed 3rd on vault and 4th all-around at the 2012 Junior Visa Championships and 3rd in the all-around at the 2012 City of Jeselo Trophy. Jeselo was Key's first international competition as a member of the U.S National Team.

  • World Gymnastics Championships Tokyo 2011

    The 2011 World Championships will take place in Tokyo, Japan and will be the main qualifier for the 2012 London Olympics. The 2011 Worlds will consist of eight days of competition culminating in men's and women's team finals competition as well as individual all around and event finals. Gymnastike will be in Tokyo providing coverage of podium training, live gymnastics competition updates, behind the scenes videos in and around the arena, and video interviews with the top gymnasts and coaches Tokyo 2011.
