The International Olympic Committee's Rule 40 says that Olympic athletes can't promote any brands that aren't permitted by the IOC or a national Olympic committee during the span of the Olympic Games, or post tweets promoting said companies.

As you may have seen throughout the Games, athletes have been very vocal on Twitter about Rule 40 and their disapproval of its terms (if you have not seen this search #WeDemandChange and #Rule40 on Twitter to see the comments).
