I'm so annoyed with Marta saying over and over "They have to be able to.." but like "Dey hahf tu bee eybl teeww..."We all know they have to be able to stand up to the pressure. You've been saying this since 2001 when you became the Head.Chellsie did. And she would have this week at Nationals.

@Alternate Starting with the one huge argument you made about "get over it", people make sacrifices for gymnasts to learn and don't ever get over it. Get real.

I agree about the comparisions of Dominique Moceanu, I don't think Marta has been supportive with Chellsie's come back...she has the power to over ride and accept Chellsie at Nationals! At the same time, I wonder why she didn't compete on Bars or Floor...in the podium training video's, she appeared to be more solid and confident on Floor...was there a reason why she didn't just compete on Floor after her disasterious Beam showing? I hope that Chellsie sticks with it, and aims for Worlds next year, I believe she could have an amazing showing at Worlds, if things don't work out for her making nationals/trials/olympics this year!Bross really needs to come up with a new Beam dismount if she's going to be considered for beam and bars...would be nice to see her on floor too. I think Nastia knows she has to impress on bars at nationals and stand out at trials on bars/beam if she's going to be considered! :)

The guideline set was a minimum score of 14.0 for one event. Chellsie did not break that threshold and Chellsie chose to compete one event. Guidelines are important and we should all respect them, as this is a sport with very high discipline. At the same time though, I feel strongly that there should always be discretion and flexibility on items of such great importance. The debate here is not about whether to change a score, or name an athlete to a world or olympic team. The debate is whether to allow a decade long and current highly decorated national team member to compete at the national championships. With all due respect, I feel very strongly that this was a very bad decision and sends the wrong message to the many Americans who need and are inspired by athletes like Chellsie Memmel. I urge USA Gymnastics to review this ruling. Thank you.
