The problem with Paul is that his great events are events we don't need. He is almost if not as good at Danell and Orozco and Jon on High Bar, Pbars and better then all 3 on Vault and Floor - but he is very weak on pommel and improved but weak on rings. He is only a 4 event gymnast. In the US a 4 event gymnast could make it but both pommel and rings would have to be 2 of those 4. As far as being different...well - Yeah - plus I am not sure if America is ready for all of his Tattoos, but yes he is a nice and popular guy.

Different, Mikulak is almost a lock too in my opinion. And he fills in the void for another solid pommel horse routine, Danell and Orozco offering the other two routines. Rings, we have Horton and Orozco so we will be looking for someone else. And same with vault, because Mikulak is the only one (out of the four) with a 7.0 SV

Hmm...Paul is very different. He is an exciting gymnast - but, would be a long shot because he cannot offer anything on rings or pommel - those are the areas needed. Danell, Orozco or Jon or at least 2 of the 3 would have to get hurt or have huge meltdowns to make this team. Paul is NOT a Jerk - he has been very very kind to many younger gymnasts and continues to be an incredible hard worker. Paul has a different personality.
