Kyla Ross is the baby of the U.S. team and will be relied on to deliver big scores on uneven bars and balance beam, her best events. Clean and consistent, Kyla is definitely a "Contender" in London.

Well Kayla sure has proven a point. If she goes NCAA I think she should sign with UCLA. She could be the gymnastic star for the stars.

@mimi douglas may not have to compete on beam, because the US has 4 serviceable beam competers (everyone except Maroney). Ross should, however, be counted on the be serviceable especially on bars, where Russia and China are significantly stronger (difficulty scores may add up to be 1 pt more than that of the US). I cant find the site where I found it, but apparently Russians have bar routines with difficulties 7.1,7.0, and 6.6, and China has 6.8,6.6, and 7.1-4 (He Kexin, unknown specifically), whereas the US can only trot out (at best) difficulties of 6.8,6.6,and 6.3. And because the US really only has one event especially stand out, it may just have to be up the Ross to get a big score on bars for the US to win.

@NastiaMemmel - if there is anyone you need to worry about on bars and beam, it's gabby. not kyla. gabby crumbles under pressure. i don't think kyla will, i think she'll thrive. i wouldn't be surprised if kyla sneaks in as a potential AA finalist.

Well Kyla fan, Kyla won't be vaulting, so it doesn't look like you'll have to worry.

cut her some slack...shes the youngest on the team and probably worried and nervous!I hope and know that she can do this!I think she has an incredibl style and determination she can do it so stop putting her down!

I'm a Kyla fan and believe she'll do fine but I was not happy with her vaulting at trials. That IS a little worrisome to me.

That's funny coming from someone with the name, 'NastiaMemmel.'

Really... 10 months ago

Posts like that crack me up... What information makes you feel Kyla will have a slip-up? Clearly this is not based on her elite career...

I am actually the most worried about kyla... i feel like she is gonna have a slip up on bars or beam in team finals...
