This week's gymnastics workout video takes us back to the training halls in Tokyo at the 2011 World Championships. Watch how the defending Olympic Champions prepare for a competition.

This workout was filmed on October 10, the day before the 2011 women's World Team Final. The Chinese team made a few errors and settled for the team bronze medal for the second year in a row. Later in the week, Yao Jinnan won the all around bronze medal, and Sui Lu was crowned 2011 Balance beam World Champion.

Gymnasts in this video: He Kexin, Jiang Yuyuan, Tan Sixin, Yao Jinnan, Huang Qiushuang, and Sui Lu.

Tan Sixin is a member of the Chinese National team. At age 14, she won the beam final in the Chinese national games beating olympians including world champion Deng Linlin. Her biggest meet was the first Youth Olympics in 2010 where she won gold on the beam and floor exercise and silver in the All Around and bars final (after Viktoria Komova). She is a balance beam specialist, scoring as high as 15.550.

She competed in her first World Championships in 2011 where the Chinese team won the bronze medal. Tan made mistakes in the preliminary round which prevented her from advancing to the all around finals.

Her coaches are He Hua and Liu Guicheng.
