Mattie Larson was a member of the US Women's National team from 2007-2010. As a club gymnast, she trained at All Olympia Gymnastics Center in Los Angeles under coaches Galina Marinova and Artur Akopyan. She is currently a competitive gymnast for the UCLA Bruins.
At the 2007 Visa Championships, Mattie placed 6th in the all around and third on floor. At the 2007 junior Pan Am Championships, she won all around and team gold and placed 2nd on bars. She won silver in the all around and bronze on bars at the 2008 Gymnix International. Mattie placed third on floor and seventh in the all around at the 2008 Visa Championships. She qualified to the 2008 Olympic Trials where she also placed seventh in the all around.
She won the balance beam and floor titles in 2009 at the World Cup. She won the all around at the 2010 CoverGirl Classic. During this same year, she placed 2nd in the all around at the Visa National Championships. She won floor and was third on uneven bars at the 2010 Visa Championships. She was also a member of the 2010 World Championship team which won a silver team medal.
The 2012-2013 season will be Mattie's sophomore season at UCLA.
