Today's bonus gymnastics Workout Wednesday features the Illinois women's gymnastics team.

This workout was filmed just before the Illini women competed in the 2012 Big 10 Championships. They were working on routines on all the events along with a new conditioning circuit. Senior Kelsey Joannides went on to win the Big 10 Beam Title and scored a career-best 39.40 in the all around while the team finished 5th overall with a 195.850, their second best score of the season.

The Illini will host next weekend's NCAA Regional Championships and will go into the meet ranked #22 nationally. They'll be looking to pull an upset and advance a full team to the 2012 NCAA National Championships.

Nice video. Good mix of events/skills/athletes. I liked the conditioning segment at the end. Interesting pushups across the mats. The music was too loud during the interview clips though. It was distracting.

A couple of tips for future videos.... The quality of video is poor. The interviewer in the background with "um uhmm and ok that's good" is very distracting. The video is fairly dark and hard to see, especially on bars and beam.
