Diego Hypolito is a two-time World Champion on floor exercise and most recently won a bronze medal on the event at the 2011 World Championships. He will represent Brazil at the 2012 Olympics in London.

Hypolito won his gold medals in 2005 and 2007 at the World Championships. During that time, he debuted a new tumbling skill that now bears his name, a double Arabian with a full twist.

He has been an innovator and a master on floor exercise for the last decade, making his World Championship debut in 2002, where he finished fifth. He went on to a fourth place finish in 2003, and won the silver medal in 2006, sandwiched between his gold medal performances.

At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Hypolito sat down a tumbling pass, finishing in a disappointing sixth place. His sister, Daniele Hypolito, is also a gymnast and is returning to London in what will be her fourth Olympic appearance.

Diego underwent knee surgery in March of 2012, but is expected to be fully recovered and competitive at the Olympics. If in top form, he will challenge for a medal on floor exercise.
