World and Olympic Champion Shawn Johnson sits down with contributor Chris Chavez to catch up on life after gymnastics.

Shawn is a retired American Gymnast and Olympic Champion. Shawn trained at Chow's Gymnastics under coaches Liang Chow and Liwen Zhuang. She was the 2007 All Around and Floor Exercise World Champion and member of the gold medal willing 2007 US World Championship team. In the 2008 Olympics, Shawn took home 4 medals: gold on Balance Beam, silver in the All Around, silver on Floor Exercise, and silver for the team. Since the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Shawn has taken some time off, but is now back on the competition floor.

Olympian turned celebrity, Shawn, has competed at the 2011 CoverGirl Classic and Visa Championships, and has her eyes set on the 2012 Olympics. The 2011 CoverGirl Classic was Shawn's first competition back since the Olympics. At the 2011 Visa Champinships, Shawn placed 4th on the Balance Beam with a combined score of 29.4 and placed 6th on the Uneven Bars with a combined score of 28.6. Shawn was named as the non-traveling alternate for the 2011 US World Team and was a member of the gold medal winning 2011 US Women's Pan American Team. Johnson also placed 2nd on uneven bars at this competition.
