Shawn Johnson is making a comeback at the Visa Championships in St Paul. The last time she competed at Championships was in 2008 before leading the Olympic team to silver in Beijing and winning the 2008 Olympic beam title. Shawn was also the 2007 and 2008 US National Champion. She has a different outlook on competition this time around. Shawn Johnson talks about which events she'll be competing at this Visa Championships and her expectations for this competition and for the future.

she is so... grown up. She gives real answers and actually speaks. Hahaha. I love her. I think she'll make Pan Ams. If she wants to be on that Olympic Team EVERYTHING would need to be upgraded.

As a huge Shawn Johnson fan, I am beyond excited that she is back competing. As for how well she competes, she had a tough injury and is working through lots of pressure and expectations. She'll probably fall a few more times before she's back in tip top shape. It's a long wayy before the Olympics and anything can happen between now and then so I think it's unfair to count her out yet. Regardless of how she does in the competition, there are many people out there that are just happy to see her competing again. GOOD LUCK Shawn!! Rock it!

Stop the hatin'!! :)

She has really matured! She is so well spoken now and interviews quite well. Hopefully she can get consistent and prove all the haters wrong!

She will not make the Olympic team.

Keep in mind people she's been away for 3 years, she's had an almost career ending injury she's coming back from. She doesn't have the repetition of doing complete routines over and over down yet, nor has she competed anything other than Classics this year! I think if she is able to get out and compete more she will get used to the competition atmosphere again, and regain her confidence. We can't keep comparing her to Shawn Johnson of the 2008 Olympics...she's a very different person and gymnast present time. Lets be respectful and cut her some slack. Sit back and enjoy her gymnastics! :)

Umm..... Nike doesn't "Pull plugs" on anyone. They let the investment ride it out, because they are contractually obligated as well. They would only do that if it was drug related because Nike doesn't want to be associated with that. BTW, Stop drinking Hatterade!! It's not cool nor cute at all!

@Lyndsey Saks Fair enough if they were picking the team tomorrow, but they're not. There is still a whole year to go. Girls get hurt in this sport everyday. I don't wish any harm on anyone. I'm just saying that nothing is written in stone yet. A lot of things could happen between now and next year.

ive been a johnson fan since day one at beijing. but i didnt like how she got an airhead about coming back and being as good. from this video i can see that her hopes are not as high as they were a year ago, and we can see that she faced the fact that she is no longer as good as the other athlets since she doesnt talk about 2012 like she used to. she is good, she just hasnt showed it so we dont know how good she actually is. shes more focused on one event at a time cuz she might no make it to the next one... and she knows it. i would really like to know if nike is gonna pull the plug on this one or what the out come is going to be(with her contract).
cant wait to see!

I really hope she gets her groove back. I hope for her sake she hits her incredible beam routine. And as a fan I would love to see her do her famous double double on bars again. I really really hope she makes pan am's and then worlds. Come on Marta have a little faith!
