Today's "Flashback Interview" features World Champion and Olympic silver medalist Alicia Sacramone. Alicia discusses her decision to de-committ to UCLA, compete for Brown University, and the busy schedule that followed. She was barely managing to balance ivy league school, competing for Brown and elite training at Brestyan's. What did she learn from this phase in her life?

Alicia has been a member of the US Senior National Team since 2003. Alicia is coached by Mihai & Silvia Brestyan at Brestyan's American Gymnastics alongside another National Team member, Alexandra Raisman. Alicia is a 3-time world champion and 9-time world medalist.

She was a full-time student at Brown University. She competed for the Bears for one year before turning pro, but she was still involved with the team as a volunteer assistant coach.

Alicia's 9 World medals include: vault (gold- '10, silver- '06, bronze- '05, '07), floor exercise (gold- '05, silver- '07) and team (gold- '07, silver- '06, '10).

At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Alicia placed 4th on vault and helped the US team win the silver medal. Feeling like she had some unfinished business with the sport of gymnastics, Alicia made a comeback in 2010. At the 2010 Visa Championships, she placed 2nd on balance beam and won the vault title. Alicia was named to the 2010 US World Team where she placed 5th on balance beam, won the vault title and helped the US team earn the silver medal. At the 2011 CoverGirl Classic, Alicia placed 3rd on floor exercise and tied for 1st on vault and balance beam. At the 2011 Visa Championships, she tied for 8th on floor exercise with a combined score of 27.35, 2nd on vault (30.6) and won the balance beam title (30.1). Most recently, Alicia was named to the 2011 gold medal winning US Women's World Team, but was unable to compete due to being injured during podium training.

Alicia successfully returned to competition at the 2012 Visa Championships, winning the vault and placing third on balance beam. She was named to the Senior National Team and advanced to the Olympic Trials.

Alicia's maturity, international competition experience and leadership abilities make her a valuable asset to the US National Team.
