@ PLEASE- don't be so tacky and mean. She is an amazing athlete. What you are slow to realize is that she has recovered from a ruptured achilles in less than a year and returned to perform at a world class level. She would be for sure on practically any other country's olympic team. I think she is there for herself, to show she can come back. That is what sports are about, giving everything you have, leaving it all on the floor. She will have no regrets regardless of the outcome.

She is very much needed on beam she is solid and has consistent landings. She is the national champion on vault and I don't need to defend her. I can assure you she'll be very solid in trials.

No need for her beam? Pretty sure her beam is leaps & bounds better than McKayla's & she can score within 0.2 of McKayla on vault. McKayla is a one-trick pony & inconsistent that the US doesn't need.

to be fair though, it would be hard to let gymnastics though. and for alicia, i bet she feels like, rightly or wrongly, that she wants to redeem herself.

but i would much prefer mckayla on the team.

This come back is over. For you or not Mckayla is a better vaulter and the US has no need for your beam.

Why are some gymnasts so slow about these things?
