Raj is a member of the US Senior National team and a member of the 2008 US bronze medal winning Olympic team.
Raj competed for Ohio State University under coach Miles Avery. Raj led his team to an NCAA team championship during his time there and won the NCAA All-Around in 2002.
Raj trains at the Houston Gymnastics Academy under coach Kevin Mazeika.
