This weeks Flash Back Friday looks at the Fans Choice # 1.... The 2004 US Championships. This championships had one of the deepest fields the women's side has had in many years. It came down to the last rotation finishing in a tie between Courtney Kupets and Carly Patterson. Courtney was the defending national champion but was coming back from a torn achilles injury suffered at the 2003 Worlds. Carley was coming off a 2nd place finish at the 2003 worlds and competing in her first Senior National Championships. This championships was the 1st step in the very competitive qualifying process for the 2004 Athens Olympics.
