I feel the exact same way. I think most of it has to do with the media. Because the Olympics are the only event large networks bother to televise in-depth, they have been so over-elevated to the point where they are the pinnacle of any gymnastics career and the smaller meets and championships in between are terribly overshadowed. Basically, the Olympics are the only event seen by the outside world, so they are all that "matter". This needs to change.
