Alaina is a member of the Cal State Fullerton Gymnastics team. As a freshman in 2008, Alaina captured the all-around in every meet for the Titans, and competed individually at the NCAA Regionals.
Before college, Alaina competed for GAGE (Great American Gymnastics Express) in Missouri and was a five-time Level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals qualifier. She placed fourth on vault and ninth on floor at nationals in 2007, won state and finished second at regionals in those events that same year, placed fourth on floor at nationals in 2006, and placed 10th at nationals on bars in 2005.
