Junior Sam Peszek talks about what her experience was like on the side lines during UCLA's NCAA Prelim session. Sam likes to know what the team needs and was getting texts from the stands about scores and how close it was. She talks about Sydney vaulting for the first time this season which was deja vu from Nationals 2 years ago. Sam talks about the party atmosphere this team takes with them into meets.
Samantha Peszek was a member of silver medal US team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Peszek remained a member of the US Senior National Team until starting college at UCLA in the fall of 2010. Peszek suffered a foot injury that kept her out of the all around for her freshman season as a Bruin, but won the 2011 NCAA Beam title with a routine that included a standing back tuck with a full twist.
Up until 2009, Samantha trained at DeVeau's School of Gymnastics in Indiana under Coach Peter Zoa. When Zoa accepted a coaching job in China in 2009, Peszek finished her club career at Sharp's Gymnastics alongside Olympic teammate Bridget Sloan.
