World Champion and Olympic medallist Chellsie Memmel sat down with Gymnastike just 3 days before the 2011 CoverGirl Classic, where she plans to make her comeback to gymnastics official and compete all around for the first time since the 2008 Olympics Trials which helped secure her spot on the Beijing Olympic Team.

I was never that taken in with Chellsie, but to hear her speak totally alters my view. What a lovely young lady! It's so nice to hear her talk about her training and be realistic about her goals and where she stands. I love these videos b/c you really get a feel for who these gymnasts are. I adore her down-to-earth hardworking fighters mentality. I can't wait to see her compete this weekend! Go Chellsie!!!

That DLO was awesome! Chellsie is the one I'm most excited to see at Classics! I'm curious to see how she does, she could make worlds if her bars is solid. Even if she doesn't have everything in the routine, it would still be one of the higher D-score US bar routines.

I'm not going to lie I'm impressed on how quickly everything came back to her and I'm excited to see her compete again... i JUST wish she would open up her arms when she salutes especially on beam, it really puts a damper on her presentation

I think they only way you can qualify is from international competitions the year before, and chellsie's last international meet was 2008.

Why is she not qualified for Championships? I thought you were qualified if you were on the Olympic team?

@judith das hab ich mir wegen dem namen schon gedacht ;) in deutschland gibt es ja kaum so gute turnerinnen, da muss man sich halt in anderen lÃ¤ndern umschauen, was? xD

Best of luck to Chellsie she is such a fighter and inspiration, its nice to hear a gymnast that seems to know about her training, what it takes, how to do it and how to pace herself.
