This week's gymnastics workout video takes you inside one of the top elite programs in the U.S., Texas Dreams Gymnastics run by Kim Zmeskal-Burdette and Chris Burdette. This video shows their second training session of the day back in November of 2012 as they worked new skills for the 2013 elite season.
U.S. Senior National team member Kennedy Baker is coming off an incredible performance at the 2012 USA Olympic Trials, finishing 8th all around. The team's U.S. Junior National team member, Bailie Key, finished 4th all around at the 2012 Visa Championships and will be a favorite for the 2013 Junior All Around crown. The video also features current elites Peyton Ernst, Ariana Guerra, Kiana Winston, and Macy Toronjo who will compete as seniors in 2013, as well as Nica Hults and Ashton Kim who will remain in the junior division.
Kennedy is a member of the US Women's Senior National Team and trains at Texas Dreams under coaches Chris Burdette and Kim Zmeskal-Burdette.
She excelled in 2012, finishing third at the Secret Classic, while also placing in the top eight on every event. At the Visa Championships, Kennedy continued her consistency, finishing eighth on floor and in the all-around, and seventh on uneven bars. Her results placed her on the National Team and advanced her to the Olympic Trials.
Kennedy dominated the 2012 American Classic, placing first in the all around, vault, beam and floor, and second on bars.
Kennedy was a member of the U.S. Junior National Team from 2009-2011. She placed seventh in the all around and third on bars and the 2011 Visa Championships. She was the 2009 uneven bars champion at the Visa Championships.
