Eddie competed for the University of Michigan from 2002 - 2005. Eddie is still training alongside the Michigan team while assisting with coaching of the Michigan's women's team as well as a local club team. Eddie is also a commentator for the Big 10 Network. Eddie's older brother Chainey Umphrey was a member of the 1996 Olympic team.
