In this week's gymnastics technique video, OHG Head Coach Jeff Beal shows a drill he uses to teach his girls the positioning in gienger release moves on bars.
Jeff is the women's coach and owner of OHG Austin. As a young coach, Jeff worked under Coach Bela Karolyi in Houston for 5 years until Bela's retirement in 1996. After Karolyi’s, Jeff moved on to Cypress Academy, where he assisted in coaching 15 US National team members. In 1998, Jeff became Optional Team Head Coach at National Elite Gymnastics in Austin, where he produced many state and regional champions, including Katie Hardman of the 1998 – 2000 US National team. He now owns and operates OHG Austin Center in Buda, Texas.
